Instructor Dawn Rowland is a second degree black belt in American Kenpo Karate under Sifu Jim Dryburgh and teaches classes at PowerKenpo martial arts, self-defense and karate school.
Dawn Rowland has more than 200 kids.
That's because Dawn loves teaching the Little Dragons (ages two to five) and Juniors (ages six to sixteen) at PowerKenpo so much that she considers them each her children.
After being attacked in college, Dawn decided to learn how to defend herself, and was drawn to the flexibility of American Kenpo Karate. She has now been practicing martial arts for more than ten years, and decided to start teaching after her brother (a police officer) asked her to show him a few things to help avoid dangerous situation in the line of duty.
"It's important for women and children to understand that they are not helpless Kenpo Karate teaches them to recognize danger signals and find a way to avoid being seriously hurt."
