Martial arts tournaments are a great way to introduce the concept of individual and team competition to your child.

Martial arts tournaments are fun for the whole family! Most students receive a trophy for participating, with the top three competitors also receiving medals.

Participating in martial arts and American Kenpo Karate tournaments is a great way for you or your child to advance your Kenpo skills — and have a blast doing it.

PowerKenpo students and instructors often compete in local Dallas tournaments, and we also occasionally host them. We will post details about upcoming competitions on this page, so check back frequently.

PowerKenpo Hosts the 2009 Winter Games in Frisco, TX

PowerKenpo will be hosting the 2009 Winter Games martial arts tournament in Friso, TX on Saturday January 17, 2009.

  • Judges Certification: 7:00 am - 8:00 am
  • Roach Middle School
  • Independence Pkwy
  • Frisco, TX

Registration & Fees:

  • Current SWKKA Rules
  • Sanctioned by United Kenpo Karate Studios
  • $30 per entry, first division; $25 each additional division
  • Pre-Registered = $40 per team; Walk-Up = $50 per team
  • Spectators: $1.50 ages 12 and under; $3.00 ages 13 and up
  • Two coaches per dojo allowed free admission
  • Medals will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers in each division
  • All competitors in the Little Dragon Demonstration division will be awarded Trophies for participation

PowerKenpo Students Win Local Dallas Martial Arts Tournament

Mother/daughter team Susan and Taylor Miller recently won first place in an American Kenpo Karate tournament at Sifu Rick Fowler's studio in Irving, TX.

Taylor and her mother Susan (both PowerKenpo students) took first place in the Little Dragons and Adult forms divisions.
